Lead Product Compliance | Robotic Kitchens (all genders)

Hamburg
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your Role

Freshly cooked food. Everywhere. All the time.

With our robots, we’re transforming the way the world cooks and enjoys food. Through technology that empowers the foodservice industry, automates fresh meal preparation, and elevates culinary quality to a new, scalable level. Accessible to everyone. Everywhere. Anytime. We give our all to make this happen – across every level, team and function.

As Lead Product Compliance you build the compliance backbone for our robotic kitchens. You establish governance, run the gap analysis and own risk assessment and technical documentation – across Machinery Regulation, CRA, EMC/LVD and food-contact. You steer notified bodies and external experts, anchor compliance directly in our development processes and make sure our robots are safe, certified and ready to scale.

These are the tasks you will be responsible for:

  • Compliance governance & regulatory roadmap: You build product compliance governance from scratch – roles, processes, conformity assessment – and shape the regulatory roadmap across Machinery Regulation 2023/1230, CRA, LVD/EMC and food-contact.
  • Gap analysis & standards: You run a gap analysis of our robotic kitchen against all applicable regulations and harmonised standards – EN ISO 12100, EN ISO 13849, ISO 10218, EN 1672-2, IEC 62443.
  • Risk assessment & technical documentation: You own the risk assessment and the technical documentation structure, keeping both versioned in lockstep with every hardware and software change.
  • Partner & notified body management: You select, brief and steer external partners – machinery safety, EMC labs, hygienic design, cyber security consultants and notified bodies.
  • Docs-as-code: You build compliance documentation as docs-as-code – Markdown, Git reviews, automated builds, AI-assisted drafting. No Word or SharePoint legacy.
  • Compliance by design: You anchor compliance in our development and change processes – design reviews, release gates, supplier requirements – and set up CRA processes with Engineering/IT: SBOM, vulnerability handling, security updates.
  • Reporting & handover: You report progress, risks and decisions to CTO and management, and prepare the handover to a permanent Product Compliance owner.

Your profile

You’re passionate about innovative technologies, excited about the role, and ready to help us revolutionize the worlds of tech and culinary even further? Let’s get cooking!

These are the qualities helping you thrive in this role:

  • Engineering foundation: You hold a degree in mechanical, electrical or mechatronics engineering (or similar) – or an equivalent practical qualification.
  • Compliance track record: You bring 5+ years in product compliance, CE coordination or product safety in machinery, robotics or automation.
  • Builder mindset: You've built a compliance or QM system from scratch at least once – not just maintained an existing one.
  • Conformity assessment know-how: You have hands-on experience with conformity assessment under the Machinery Directive/Regulation, risk assessment (EN ISO 12100) and functional safety (EN ISO 13849 / SISTEMA).
  • Broad regulatory knowledge: You know your way around EMC/LVD, food-contact / hygienic design and the Cyber Resilience Act – and you've worked with notified bodies and test labs.
  • Docs-as-code native: You're at home with Markdown, Git and pull-request reviews, and you actively use LLM tooling in your daily work.
  • Steering & leadership: You've steered external consultants and labs and led projects in cross-functional engineering teams.
  • German & English: You're fluent in German and English.
